Minister for Tourism, Hospitality and Events, Jane Howlett, said the Hobart Marathon attracted runners of all fitness levels.
"The Hobart Marathon is a great opportunity for people and families to participate in a fun and challenging event," Minister Howlett said.
"The Tasmanian Government has been a proud supporter of Hobart Marathon Festival since the inaugural event in 2022.
"Through the Events Tasmania Major Event Partnerships Program, we have provided $180,000 to assist with the delivery of the Hobart Marathon Festival through to 2027.
"Regardless of which race you're participating in, it's great to be out having some fun, undertaking a challenge and connecting with your community.
"Best of all, participants are raising much-needed funds for a range of charities."
This year's event includes the marathon, half marathon, 10km, 5km and 2km races.
The races will start and finish at Princes Wharf No.1, taking competitors on a course that winds through the city and along the shores of the River Derwent.
The Hobart Marathon Festival is on Sunday 12 April 2026.
