Homemade bombs, replica guns seized in Tumut

A man has been charged after a search warrant allegedly uncovered drugs, homemade bombs and replica handguns at his home in Tumut earlier this year, NSW Police say.

Police from Cootamundra Local Area Command executed the warrant on a home in Blowering Road, Tumut, on Tuesday 28 June 2016.

Police will allege they discovered cannabis, cash, four homemade bombs, four replica pistols and several mobile phones.

Following investigations by Tumut detectives, a 31-year-old man was arrested at that same location today.

He was taken to Tumut Police Station where he was charged with

• Supply a prohibited drug – indictable quantity

• Supply a prohibited drug

• Possess a prohibited drug

• Deal with the suspected proceeds of crime

• Possess or use a military-style weapon without permit (four counts)

• Possess unauthorised pistol (four counts), and,

• Possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority.

He was granted conditional bail to appear in Tumut Local Court on Monday 10 October 2016.

Tumut Duty Officer, Inspector Stephen Radford, said yesterday’s arrest was the result of an intensive, ongoing and commendable investigation by Tumut detectives
