Homicide investigation, Earlville

Police have commenced a homicide investigation after a 28-year-old man was fatally wounded at Earlville last night.

Just after 11pm, police were called to reports of a disturbance at a Downing Street residence.

An altercation has occurred between a group of people which has resulted in a 28-year-old man receiving a fatal injury.

The man was then driven to Cairns Hospital by another man and a woman where he was pronounced deceased.

A crime scene was established at the residence and hospital as detectives commenced their investigation.

Two men and two women are assisting police with their enquiries.

Investigations are continuing.
