The Hawthorn Arts Centre clock tower will light up in blue this evening, to commemorate the tragic loss of four police officers on the Eastern Freeway last year.
You may wish to pause at 5.36pm to honour the service and sacrifice of these officers who lost their lives:
- Leading Senior Constable Lynette Taylor
- Constable Glen Humphris
- Senior Constable Kevin King
- Constable Josh Prestney tragically.
This was the biggest loss of officer lives in a single event in Victoria Police's history. Two of the officers were stationed at Boroondara Police Complex, and the accident occurred in our municipality.
Our thoughts are with their families and friends, members of Boroondara Police Complex and the wider Victoria Police community. We thank them for all for the important work they do in keeping our community safe.
