A Hornsby woman has admitted her first thought after learning she'd won $1.2 million in Saturday Lotto was to run out of the office and resign.
The Sydney resident held one of the five division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 4691 on Saturday 4 July 2026. Each division one winning entry pocketed $1,286,812.87.
After missing multiple phone calls from us, the winning woman was completely oblivious to the news before finally calling back.
"I'm just at work right now. Did I win division one?" she gasped.
"That almost makes me want to run out of the office and quit right now.
"Oh my gosh. That's life changing. I can't believe this.
"It's so bizarre. I don't always play but lately I've just been going, 'Gosh, I'd love to win', so I've been getting tickets every now and then.
"You've got the best job in the world!
"My husband will be gobsmacked. This sort of thing doesn't happen to us."
With more than $1.2 million heading her way, the stunned winner struggled to find the words to describe how she felt.
"I'm completely speechless," she said.
"It just means we finally can do a few things we've been putting off.
"The house needs a bit of work. I'm sure one of the first things we'll do is redo the bathroom."
