House destroyed by fire at Lake Macquarie

A house has been destroyed, and two others were damaged, following a fire in Lake Macquarie yesterday.

About 4.30pm (Tuesday 3 December 2019), emergency services were called to a home on Ridge Road, Kilaben Bay, near Toronto, following reports the house was well alight.

Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze, but the home was completely destroyed.

A neighbouring house suffered extensive damage and a second house suffered minor damage.

Officers from Lake Macquarie Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined; however, initial inquiries suggest the fire is not suspicious.
