A man is being treated for the effects of smoke inhalation after his home was destroyed by fire at Avalon overnight, NSW Police say.
Fire fighters from Fire & Rescue NSW and police from Northern Beaches Local Area Command found the three-storey house on Avalon Parade well alight when they arrived about 10.30pm today.
A man, believed to be aged in his 70s, had escaped the blaze and was taken to Mona Vale Hospital for treatment.
Fire-fighters contained the blaze to the one site; however, the house was destroyed.
The cause of the fire is still to be determined.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
