: Hubfoods launches new Battered Fish & Chips - Classic comfort, made accessible
Sydney, Australia – 1.12.2025 - Hubfoods, a leader in ready-made and texture-modified meal solutions, has launched two new products bringing one of Australia's most recognisable pairings - Battered Fish and Chips - to residents who require modified diets.
The new Hubfoods PU4 Battered Fish and Hubfoods PU4 Golden Chips are individually developed products designed specifically for texture-modified menus. Each component is texture modified, shaped, and snap frozen to lock in authentic flavour while ensuring safety, ease of eating, and consistent presentation. The products can be served together as a complete meal or used separately to increase menu variety. Both items are IDDSI Level 4 approved.
The new PU4 Battered Fish: A smooth, puréed white fish blend shaped into a familiar fillet-style portion. Snap freezing preserves the natural flavour of the fish while delivering a soft, cohesive texture suitable for texture-modified diets.
The new PU4 Golden Chips: A puréed potato product shaped into chip-style pieces, developed to offer recognisable flavour cues and simple portioning while meeting the requirements of residents who cannot safely consume traditional chips.
Early trials in aged care have been extremely positive. Hardi Aged Care, Anglicare Sydney, and St Vincent's Care Services, all existing users of Hubfoods, have all conducted resident taste testing and reported strong approval, high engagement at mealtimes, and enthusiastic feedback asking for both products to become part of regular menus.
