Human remains formally identified as Jake Anderson-Brettner, TAS

Human remains found near Myrtle Park on 19 August have been formally identified as 24-year-old Launceston man Jake Anderson-Brettner, Tasmania Police say.

The Coroner has released the remains to the family.

"The circumstances of Jake’s death were traumatic and our thoughts and condolences are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time," Detective Acting Inspector Craig Fox said.

On 21 August police charged a 26-year-old Riverside man with Murder and a
25-year-old Riverside woman with Accessory After The Fact Of Murder, in relation
to Jake’s death.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Jake’s death.

"The investigation does have links interstate and Tasmania Police will continue to engage with other state police jurisdictions as part of our investigation," Detective Acting Inspector Fox said.
