Police are investigating following the discovery of human remains at an address in Hope Vale on January 31, Queensland Police say.
Search and rescue crews attended the location on Beach Road in relation to a 77-year-old man who had been reported missing in December, 2017.
A search of the property uncovered partial human remains and a crime scene was declared at 9.10am.
The cause of death is unknown however not believed to be suspicious.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner pending further forensic examination of the remains.
Investigations are continuing.
