Hunter region break-in, fraud bring charges, NSW

A man will appear in court today after a number of break-in and fraud offences were allegedly committed in the Hunter region this year, NSW Police say.

Officers from Newcastle City Police Area Command commenced investigations into a number of reported break-in and fraud offences in the Wallsend area between January and July 2018.

Following inquiries, police arrested an 18-year-old man at a home in Wallsend about 9pm (Thursday 19 July 2018).

He was taken to Waratah Police Station and charged with break & enter house (x 3), destroy or damage property, take & drive conveyance without consent of owner, contravene prohibition/restriction apprehended violence order, and dishonestly obtain property by deception (x 2).

He was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court today (Friday 20 July 2018).
