Hydro house discovered at Gymea, NSW

A crime scene has been established at a home in Gymea after a hydroponic cannabis crop as discovered overnight, NSW Police say.

Fire & Rescue NSW officers discovered a large-scale enhanced hydroponic cannabis setup when they were called to a home on Milburn Road, Gymea, after smoke was seen coming from the building about 10.30pm (Friday 22 December 2017).

Fire fighters entered the building but were unable to locate a fire; they withdrew from the building until the electricity authority disconnected power to the site.

Once rendered safe, police examined the scene and confirmed an extensive cannabis crop was being grown indoors.

A guard remains in place overnight until scene of crime officers can attend later this morning (Saturday 23 December 2017). Once examined, an estimated value of the crop will be made.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call Sutherland Police or Crime Stoppers.
