I love a bike city because… - Wollongong

We're asking our younger residents to share what they love about bike riding in Wollongong.

The 'I love a bike city because…' public exhibition invites young people between the ages of 12 to 24 years to submit an image that captures what they love about bike riding in their community.

"As part of the exhibition, we'll select twenty images to be displayed on panels on the exterior walls of Wollongong Youth Centre as well as exhibited within the Youth Centre building," Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM said

"I encourage all of our young people to submit a photo to be considered for this exhibition. This is an opportunity to share what you love about Wollongong and help increase awareness of bike riding within your community.

The 'I love a bike city because…' exhibition comes at a time where Council is investing in new pop-up cycling infrastructure within the Wollongong CBD, Port Kembla, Thirroul and Towradgi.

In February, Wollongong received international recognition as a Bike City. The UCI Bike City Label is an aspirational award that both recognises the elite cycling cities of the world as well as cities that are working to become cycling cities.
