ICAC Metro Outreach Heads to Campbelltown

The NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) will visit Campbelltown for the first time next week as part of its Sydney Metro Outreach program.

The Commission will conduct a series of educational and information events during the week, including a series of workshops for NSW state and local government public officials, and members of non-government organisations.

A highlight of the visit will be a Community Forum featuring ICAC Commissioner the Hon Helen Murrell SC, who will participate in a panel discussion with Executive Director Corruption Prevention, Lewis Rangott, about the Commission and its work. The forum will be held on Wednesday evening 29 October and everyone is welcome to attend (see below for registration information).

ICAC Chief Commissioner the Hon John Hatzistergos AM, who will host a session with local councillors on Tuesday evening, said outreach programs help the Commission to connect with NSW public officials and communities.

"The ICAC is keen to share information and messages about our work with public officials and communities across NSW, and that includes the Sydney metropolitan area," Chief Commissioner Hatzistergos said. "The Metro Outreach program has been well-received, since its debut in Parramatta in 2024. We are keen to follow up that success through our upcoming visit to Campbelltown."

"Sydney's south west is a fast-growing region. We want to connect with the community and the state and local government agencies based in the area to help everyone learn about the work and functions of the ICAC and the role – and in some cases obligations ¬– that they have in helping to raise awareness and report suspected corrupt conduct."

Members of the community wishing to attend the public forum are requested to register via email at . Address details will be provided on registration. The forum will commence with registration and refreshments from 5:30 pm, then the forum discussion at 6:00 pm, with some time for audience Q&As before proceedings finish at approximately 7:00 pm.

This ICAC Outreach program has been in place since 2001 and mainly comprises about two-to-three visits per year throughout rural and regional NSW.
