Shellharbour City Council is inviting the community to take a seat, grab a coffee and have a say at the Ideas Lounge, an interactive space designed to spark conversation and shape Shellharbour's future.
Running from 11 to 13 August, the Ideas Lounge will transform Shellharbour Civic Centre into a welcoming hub where residents can meet with staff, discover the many ways Council supports the community, and share ideas on the issues that matter most to them.

From playground renewals and community events to waste services, generating ideas for the city and for how Council communicates online, the program offers opportunities for people of all ages to contribute their thoughts and help inform Council's future decision-making.
Shellharbour Mayor Chris Homer said this is an opportunity to showcase the many ways Council supports the community while encouraging residents to get involved.
"What many people don't see is the enormous range of services and projects Council delivers behind the scenes to keep our city running and help our communities thrive," Mayor Homer said.
"Whether it's supporting families and young people, caring for our environment, planning for future development, maintaining public spaces or delivering community programs and events, local government has a hand in so much of what makes Shellharbour a great place to live."

Visitors to the Ideas Lounge will be able to add their ideas to a community ideas map, provide feedback on future playground renewals, discuss waste and sustainability initiatives, help improve the accessibility of Council's online communications and contribute to conversations about Shellharbour's creative future.
Sessions include exploring playground renewals, discussions on the Tullimbar Oval Masterplan community hub, creative planning for a future strategy and exploring Shellharbour's circular economy.
Mayor Homer said the initiative reflected Council's commitment to listening to the community and working together to build a vibrant, inclusive and connected city.
"We know our community has great ideas and valuable local knowledge, and we want to hear from as many people as possible," Mayor Homer said.
"Whether you have a big idea, a small suggestion or simply want to learn more about your local Council, we'd love to welcome you into the Ideas Lounge for a chat."
The Ideas Lounge will be open at Shellharbour Civic Centre from 11 to 13 August. Community members are welcome to drop in and participate in any of the scheduled sessions throughout the week.
