The Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA) has released the Residential Aged Care Pricing Advice 2025-26.
The pricing advice will inform Australian Government decisions on residential aged care and residential respite care funding from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026.
The pricing advice includes:
- the recommended Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC) price
- recommended price weights for each AN-ACC class and respite class
- recommended price weights for each base care tariff category
- advice on the estimated gap between the costs of delivering hotel services and specific types of revenue received for all residential aged care services.
Chair of the Pricing Authority, Mr David Tune AO PSM, remarked:
'We are committed to ensuring that our pricing advice for residential aged care is transparent, evidence-based and reflects the costs of delivering quality care.'
Chair Mr David Tune AO PSM
'The pricing advice has been developed through extensive public consultation and rigorous analysis, ensuring the voices of all stakeholders are heard and considered. This helps support the sustainability and improvement of aged care services across Australia,' said Mr Tune.
The pricing advice is underpinned by the Pricing Framework for Australian Residential Aged Care Services 2025-26, informed by stakeholder feedback to a public consultation process.
