Illicit drug searches lead to six arrests, SA

Police have arrested three men and three women following a number of drug raids in the northern suburbs last week, according to SA Police.

Between Thursday 18 August and Friday 19 August, police from Holden Hill and Elizabeth undertook a joint operation and searched a number of properties in Elizabeth Park, Evanston and Modbury North.

During the searches, police uncovered about 75 grams of methamphetamine, 1000 ecstasy tablets, almost $20,000 in cash, glassware utilised in a clandestine laboratory, several cannabis plants and a variety of prohibited weapons including a taser and an extendable baton.

Arrested were:

  • a 32-year-old man from Evanston was charged with two counts trafficking in a controlled substance and unlawful possession. He was refused bail and appeared in court today.
  • a 23-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man, both from Elizabeth Park, were charged with trafficking in a controlled substance. Both were granted bail to appear at Elizabeth Magistrates Court on a later date.
  • a 32-year-old woman from Modbury North was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance. She was refused bail and appeared in court today.
  • a 31-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man, both from Ingle Farm, were charged with manufacture a controlled substance, trafficking a controlled substance and cultivate cannabis. Both were refused bail and appeared in court today.
