Image released as part of bushfire investigation - Parramatta PAC

Police have released an image and are appealing for public assistance as investigations continue into a fire that damaged bushland and property in Sydney's north west last year.

About 12.30pm on Sunday 29 November 2020, emergency services responded to reports of a fire in bushland at Moxham Park, Northmead, which caused extensive damage to a house in Whitehaven Road.

Four firefighters sustained minor injuries while extinguishing the fire.

Parramatta Police Area Command have been investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire and believe it was deliberately lit.

As part of inquiries, detectives have now released an image of a man they believe can assist with their investigation.

The man depicted is described as being in his 30s, about 170cm tall, of slim build with dark, balding hair. He is shown wearing dark glasses and what appears to be an orange emergency services uniform.

Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police or anyone with information is urged to contact Parramatta police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
