Image released for robbery with violence Crestmead

Police investigating a robbery with violence at a tobacconist store at Crestmead yesterday afternoon have released an image of a man who may be able to assist them with their inquiries.

Around 5.30pm yesterday a man entered the Waratah Drive business and enquired about scales and cigarettes.

The 26-year old female store attendant was tallying up the items when the man placed the items in his backpack and left the store.

The store attendant followed the man and located him in Browns Plains Road.

The man grabbed the female store attendant from behind and threw her to the ground. A second man was also present and aided the offender.

Both men then fled the scene.

The man who entered the store is described as approximately 177cms, muscular build with a Pacific Islander appearance, unshaven face and had black hair in a ponytail tucked under a black cap. He was wearing a blue tank top, blue shorts and had a sports bag.

Investigations are continuing.
