Images released as search continues for two children missing from rural property - Kains Flat

Police are appealing for information to locate two children missing from a rural property near Mudgee, as a large-scale search continues in the area this morning.

Just after 5.45pm yesterday (Monday 27 December 2021), emergency services were called to White Cedars Road, Kains Flat – about 35km north-east of Mudgee – following reports two children were missing.

On arrival, officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District were told the children – a 14-year-old boy and 12-year-old girl – had left for a walk at about 2.30pm and had not returned.

Eli Jones – aged 14 – is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall, with brown hair and believed to be wearing a grey t-shirt.

Hannah Jones – aged 12 – is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 160cm tall, with brown hair and believed to be wearing a pink top.

Police commenced a coordinated multi-agency response, with assistance from specialist officers from Police Rescue and the Dog Unit.

Officers are also being assisted by NSW Ambulance, NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS), NSW Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA), and the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service.

A search was conducted overnight is continuing today.
