Impacts of flooding across Shire

This is a photograph of a flooded sports oval.

Following last night's rain and flooding event our crews are out assessing, clearing and sweeping local roads and drains.

Some recreation facilities including trails, parks, playgrounds (including the Diamond Creek Regional Playspace), dog parks, and sports ovals have been impacted and may be closed until repairs have been made and they can be reopened safely. These closures may continue over the weekend and into next week depending on the rectification works required.

The bridge at Allendale Road has been significantly damaged and is closed. Detours will be in place while repair works are undertaken.

There were no bin collections in Wilson Road, Wattle Glen, this morning due to flooding. These bins will now be picked up on Monday.

The Eltham Leisure Centre and Diamond Creek Community Centre are now open following earlier closures.

Please take care when you are out and about, and we thank you for your patience as we complete these important works.
