NSW Health is reminding all members of the media that they require permission from the relevant NSW Health Media and Communications staff to film, photograph or conduct interviews on NSW Health sites.
We have been made aware of some media outlets who have attempted to enter private patient areas, specifically those designated as treatment areas, for suspected coronavirus cases.
NSW Health is urging the media to adhere to its legal and ethical obligations and respect the privacy of patients and staff who have not consented to being filmed, photographed or interviewed.
Journalists who enter without permission or attempt to enter patient areas by making false representations will be removed from the premises and, if necessary, the incidents will be referred to NSW Police.
