Increase in capacity

Peter Gutwein,Premier

We have doubled our Public Health Hotline call centre capacity to ensure Tasmanians have access to the support and information they need when they need it.

The additional call centre increases capacity for up to 50 call takers, including qualified clinical staff providing advice to health professionals, and plays a vital role in calling people to support quarantine measures.

The new call centre will operate in the first instance from 9.30am to 5.15pm Monday to Friday, but will be expanded to operate from 7.00am to 9.00pm, seven days a week if required.

The existing call centre will continue to operate from 7.00am to 9.00pm, seven days a week.

The new call centre will allow the existing capability to be split over two sites, which provides a critical alternative should one of the sites become unavailable for any reason.
