Indecent assault, man charged in Erina

A man will face court later this month after allegedly indecently assaulting a woman on the state’s Central Coast, NSW Police say.

Police have been told a man entered a supermarket on Terrigal Drive, Erina, about 8.30am yesterday, and approached a female staff member.

It will be alleged the began talking to her, before indecently assaulting her.

Officers attached to Brisbane Water Local Area Command attended the location and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, police attended a home on Karalta Road, Erina, and arrested a 79-year-old man about 5pm.

He was taken to Gosford Police Station where he was charged with assault with act of indecency.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Gosford Local Court on Tuesday 28 February 2017.

Police encourage any person who has been a victim of sexual or indecent assault to make a report at any police station.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
