Indecent behaviour in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are calling for public assistance to identify a man who they believe may be able to assist in relation to an incident of indecent behaviour in Alice Springs yesterday.

Around 4:45pm a woman was outside a property on Sturt Terrace when it is alleged she was approached by a man who, after a short conversation, began masturbating. The woman demanded the man leave the property, and he was last seen walking towards the Todd River.

No one was injured during this incident.

Police have released an image of a man who they wish to identify as they believe he may have information in relation to the incident. The man is described as being of Aboriginal in appearance, 176cms tall, with a bald head, solid build and missing a front tooth. At the time of the incident the man was wearing running shoes, brown cargo knee length shorts with a grey shirt.

Anyone who is subject to this kind of behaviour is urged to remember the three Rs;

Recognise - an unsafe situation

React - by getting away from the danger or from the situation, making noise or running and finding a safe place or person

Report - call police immediately on triple zero, or tell a parent, family members or another trusted adult to assist in telling police.
