Indecent treatment charges at Reedy Creek, QLD

Detectives from the Gold Coast Child Protection and Investigation Unit (CPIU) have today charged a 19-year-old man with the alleged indecent treatment of a child offences at Reedy Creek, Queensland Police say.

The charges relate to the alleged offences involving children aged between 11 and 13 and are alleged to have occurred between November 2015 and December 2016 at a private residence.

Detectives commenced Operation Papa Icelandic as a result of information received in December 2016 and this morning executed a search warrant at a Reedy Creek address seizing a number of items and arresting the man.

The victims were known to the man.

He has been charged with two counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, three counts of indecent treatment of a child and one count of use internet to procure a child under 16.

The man is expected to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow, January 19.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have knowledge of any similar offences that may have gone unreported to contact Crime Stoppers.
