Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man with serious head injuries in Surfers Paradise, Queensland Police say.
Preliminary information suggests that around 5am, members of the public located an injured man lying near the intersection of Stanhill and Thomas drives.
A witness has said that he was wearing a bicycle helmet but no bicycle was located at the scene.
He has been transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital with a significant head injury.
Anyone who may have seen anything in the area – or who may have dash cam – is urged to contact police.
