The Tasmanian Government is committed to ensuring that workplaces are as safe as possible so that workers return home to their family and friends safe and well at the end of each day.
The latest Tasmania Industry Overview report, which covers safety performance data and trends across the State, is now available and has confirmed injury numbers in Tasmania have reduced by 21 per cent in the last 10 years.
Body stressing injuries, while still the most common cause of injury, have also reduced by 10 per cent in the last five years, with serious injuries also decreasing.
While this is pleasing, we know there is more to do, and WorkSafe Tasmania will continue working with businesses to make their workplaces safer and healthier.
The report includes easy to understand visuals and posters which are ideal for displaying on noticeboards in the workplace, and highlights the key areas where WorkSafe Tasmania will continue to focus its efforts, working with industry to support improvement in safety performance.
