Inmate from Tumbarumba facility arrested in Victoria

An inmate missing from a prison farm in the state’s south has been arrested in Victoria, NSW Police say.

The 24-year-old man was last seen about 6pm on Friday (17 March 2017), at the minimum-security correctional facility at Tumbarumba. He was reported missing to police at 7.30am yesterday.

NSW Police disseminated the information to Victoria Police and about 9.15pm, the man was arrested on Canterbury Road, Vermont, and taken to Ringwood Police Station.

NSW Police will apply for his extradition tomorrow.
