Inquiries continue after seven stabbed in Ryde

Police are investigating after seven people were stabbed at a party in Ryde overnight.

Just after midnight tomorrow, police were called to a party at a home on Victoria Road, Ryde, after an altercation involving several young persons took place inside the home.

As a result of the altercation, seven males and a female sustained stab wounds, NSW Police say.

A 16-year-old boy was taken to Westmead Hospital where he is in a critical condition.

Another boy, aged 16, and a man, aged 21, were also taken to Westmead Hospital with stab wounds. They are both understood to be in a serious condition.

Three boys, two aged 16 and one aged 17, and a woman aged 18 were all taken to Royal North Shore Hospital with stab wounds where they are understood to be in a stable condition.

Police from Ryde Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which will be examined by forensic specialists.

Detectives are speaking to witnesses. No arrests have been made at this stage.
