Inquiries into stolen diamond ring continue - Brookvale

CCTV has been released as police continue to investigate the theft of jewellery from a store on Sydney's Northern Beaches last year.

About 11.40am (Monday 12 October 2020), an unknown man entered a jewellery store inside a shopping complex on Pittwater Road, Brookvale, and spoke with the shop attendant, a 58-year-old woman.

After requesting to inspect some of the items, police have been told the man snatched a pear shaped, 18 carat yellow gold diamond ring from the woman and fled the store.

The attendant was shaken but not injured during the incident.

Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command attended a short time later and established a crime scene.

As inquiries continue, police have released CCTV of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He's described as being of Caucasian appearance, in his late 30s to early 40s, about 180cm tall, and was wearing a beige baseball cap, face mask, red and black sleeve checked shirt, dark jeans and grey sneakers at the time. He has long blond hair which may have been a wig.

Anyone with information should contact Northern Beaches detectives on (02) 9976 8099 or Crime Stoppers.
