Inquiries underway after stabbing at Surry Hills boarding house

A man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed at a boarding house in Surry Hills tonight.

Emergency services were called to South Dowling Street shortly after 7.30pm (Thursday 17 October 2019), and found a man suffering a stab wound to his chest.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital where he's reported to be in a stable condition.

Officers from Surry Hills Police Area Command have established a crime scene and have initiated an inquiry.

Police have been told a group of men were involved in an argument immediately before the man was found injured.

Inquiries are now underway to locate those involved.
