An investigation is underway into the death of man who was stabbed at Mudgee overnight.
Police were called to Mudgee Hospital about 11pm (Saturday 17 May 2025), when a 22-year-old man died there after being brought to the hospital suffering a stab wound to his abdomen.
Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District established crime scenes at the hospital and Gladstone Street, where it's believed the man was stabbed during a fight with another person.
Strike Force Dunedin – comprising detectives from Orana Mid-Western PD assisted by State Crime Command's Homicide Squad – has been formed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man's death.
Police are now speaking with a number of people and are appealing for anyone with information about the incident – or who has dashcam in the vicinity of Gladstone Street between 10.30pm to 10.50pm – to contact Mudgee Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
