Instant loss of licence for speedster, SA

A driver has lost his licence after being caught speeding at West Beach overnight, according to SA Police.

At about 10.30pm on Sunday 12 June, traffic patrols were performing laser duties on Tapleys Hill Road near the Adelaide Airport, when a Toyota sedan was detected travelling at 138km/h in an 80km/h zone.

The driver was stopped a short distance away and drug tested, returning a positive result to methamphetamine.

The 42-year-old from Seaton, was issued with a $1035 on the spot fine and lost nine demerit points.

He was further issued with a 12 month immediate loss of licence and may face court pending forensic testing of his drug sample.
