International Day Of People With Disability: Bayside 3 December

The International Day of People with Disability is an important opportunity to celebrate the contributions, strengths, and achievements of people with disability in our community.

It is also a time for meaningful reflection - to acknowledge the everyday challenges people with disability face and to consider how we can collectively remove barriers, strengthen inclusion, and create environments to improve access, inclusion, where everyone can fully participate.

The theme for this year, Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress, highlights the importance of recognising the talent, leadership, and potential of people with disability and empowering them to shape the future of our communities.

It is about building a better future by ensuring people with disability are supported, represented, and empowering them to fulfill leadership roles.

Bayside Council is committed to building an inclusive, accessible, and welcoming community for all.

Council's Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2022-2026 outlines our ongoing commitment to improving access to services, expanding opportunities for participation, and strengthening the visibility and voice of people with disability in community life.
