Investigation after woman indecently assaulted at Wentworthville, NSW

Police are appealing for information after a woman was indecently assaulted while walking at Wentworthville this morning, NSW Police say.

Around 9.15am (Sunday 15 July 2018), the 62-year-old woman was walking west along the footpath on the Great Western Highway between Bransgrove and Bridge streets.

At that time, an unknown man has approached her from behind and indecently assaulted the woman before running down a nearby alleyway.

The man has been described as a about 35-years-old, olive skinned, 160cm tall, slim build, with a gaunt face, and he was wearing a dark coloured jacket and long pants.

Detectives from Cumberland Police Area Command are appealing to anyone who might have witnessed the assault to contact them.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
