Investigation continues into protest in Eveleigh

Police continue to investigate the actions of protesters at an event in Eveleigh yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 6pm (Friday 10 November 2017), a number of protestors gathered at the Australian Technology Park.

A police operation was conducted, involving officers from Redfern and several Local Area Commands assisted by the Public Order Riot Squad and dog unit.

During the operation, four people were arrested. A 24-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault police in execution of duty, after he allegedly spat on an officer.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Monday 11 December 2017.

A 31-year-old man and two women, aged 43 and 51 were arrested but released without charge.

Police will continue to review CCTV footage and investigate the actions of protestors.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
