Investigation into Ascot Vale road rage

Police are appealing for public assistance following a road rage incident in Ascot Vale earlier this month, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told a woman was travelling along Langs Road on 7 February about 3.35pm.

It is believed she pulled over to the side of the road and waited for traffic to pass before performing a U-turn and parking.

As she opened her car door to exit the vehicle, a male cyclist pulled up beside her and made a remark before punching her bonnet and smashing the windscreen.

He then rode away.

The woman sustained minor lacerations to her face due to the shattered glass.

Police have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

He is perceived as aged in his 30s with a red-orange beard and was wearing a blue helmet, black T-shirt and blue shorts at the time.

The man was riding a black road bike with a white seat and blue water bottle holder.

Anyone who recognises the man or has information regarding the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
