Investigation into Clayton hit-run continues

Detectives from Major Collision Investigation Unit continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding a fatal hit-run collision which occurred in Clayton on Thursday 29 August.

It is believed a woman was crossing Wellington Road near Scenic Boulevard when she was hit by a dark coloured wagon travelling west about 9.45pm.

Nisali Perera, a 20-year-old woman currently residing in Clayton, died at the scene and it is alleged the driver of the vehicle failed to stop.

A vehicle was later found dumped at a property on North Road in Clayton about 11pm and is believed to be connected to the incident.

Investigators have made a number of enquires and are releasing the photos, CCTV and the names of two people that they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.

Police wish to speak Shane Cochrane, a 37-year-old man from Bayswater and Lauren Hindes, a 33-year-old from the Clayton area.
