Investigation Ongoing into Endeavour Hills Shooting: Police

Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad are investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting in Endeavour Hills this morning.

Emergency services were called to a Janmara Court residence following reports a teenage boy had been injured following a shooting about 1.20am.

Detectives believe a number of shots were fired from the road or footpath towards the home, injuring the teen while he was sleeping.

The 17-year-old boy has been taken to hospital in a stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Other family members in the home at the time, a 56-year-old man, a 46-year-old woman, a 26-year-old woman and an 11-year-old girl were not physically injured during the incident.

Police were later notified of a burnt-out grey Mitsubishi Eclipse found in Melzak Way, Narre Warren around 4am this morning.

Detectives believe this may have been the getaway vehicle.

Investigators are particularly keen to speak to anyone with knowledge of the incident, or who have may been in the Endeavour Hills area around 1.20am, or the Narre Warren area shortly before 4am and who has dashcam footage.

At this stage, police believe the incident was targeted.
