Investigation underway following man's death in Clovelly

Police investigating the death of a man at Clovelly last week are appealing for public assistance, NSW Police say.

About 11pm on Saturday 14 April 2018, emergency services were called to Fern Street after a man was located unconscious on the footpath.

The 62-year-old was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital with severe facial injuries and brain damage. He died on Tuesday (17 April 2018).

Detectives from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command have been investigating the man’s death. It is not yet known whether it is suspicious.

Investigators are appealing for public assistance and are urging anyone who might have seen the man or the events leading up to him being found injured, to come forward.

The man, a local resident, was last seen leaving a 353 bus from Bondi Junction on the eastern side of Fern Street about 10.45pm.

Police are urging anyone who was in the area at that time to contact detectives as they may have information that can assist.

Inquiries are continuing and police are awaiting the result of a post mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
