Investigations continue after man shot, NSW

Investigations are continuing after a man was shot at Beverly Hills today, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to Hampden Street about 11.15am (Thursday 30 August 2018), where they found a man with a gunshot wound to his thigh.

He was taken to hospital where he underwent surgery.

Initial inquiries suggest the injured man was at a pizza shop on the corner of Edgebaston and King Georges Road, when he was approached by another man.

Witnesses have told police the pair was involved in an argument before leaving the area together in a dark-coloured Nissan Dualis.

A short time later the 31-year-old man was found injured; however, the vehicle and other man had left the scene.

Detectives from St George Police Area Command established a crime scene and conducted an extensive search of the area.

An investigation into the shooting, which is believed to be targeted, is underway and investigators are appealing for public assistance.

The man is described as being of Mediterranean / Middle Eastern appearance and with a solid build.

Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is urged to come forward.
