Investigations continue into armed robbery, NSW

Police are re-appealing to the community for information as investigations continue into the armed robbery of a pub at Rockdale last year.

Shortly before 4.30am on Thursday 26 October 2017, two men entered a licensed premises on the Princes Highway, Rockdale, and threatened staff with handguns, demanding cash.

The men stole cash and fled the location on foot, before driving away in a white Hyundai Getz, which was last seen travelling south-bound on Capel Lane.

The two employees at the premises were not injured.

Police from St George Local Area Command attended the location and established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic officers, NSW Police say.

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad established Strike Force Ringbalin to investigate the incident.

As their inquiries continue, strike force investigators have released CCTV images of the Hyundai and are appealing for assistance from the community to locate the car and identify the occupants at the time.

The vehicle is depicted as being a late-model three-door hatch, which was white in colour.

Investigators have not been able to match the description to any vehicles stolen around the time of the robbery, and believe the car may have been borrowed and fitted with stolen plates.

Police are urging anyone with information that may assist Strike Force Ringbalin investigators to call Crime Stoppers.
