Investigations underway after housefire - Far South Coast

Police are investigating following a housefire on the state's Far South Coast.

About 4am yesterday (Sunday 23 May 2021), emergency services were called to Stringybark Place, Millingandi, near Merimbula, following reports of a fire.

Fire and Rescue and Rural Fire Service attended and extinguished the blaze.

The home, which was under renovation at the time, was extensively damaged.

The sole occupant – a 34-year-old man – was not injured.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined; however, it is being treated as suspicious.
