Investigations underway after stabbing - Prairiewood

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command have commenced inquires after a man was stabbed in Prairiewood this afternoon.

About 3.15pm (Saturday 29 May 2021), officers were called to the showground on Smithfield Drive following reports of a stabbing.

Officers arrived to find a man, believed to be aged in his early 20s, suffering stab wounds to his back and arm.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

A crime scene has been established at the showground as investigations get underway.
