Investigations underway after two men injured during neighbour dispute - Merrylands

Investigations have commenced after two men suffered injuries during an altercation on a residential street at Merrylands tonight.

Police were called to the address on Abbott Street about 7.15pm (Monday 9 March 2020) by NSW Ambulance paramedics who were treating a woman for minor injuries sustained during an apparent dispute with a neighbour.

While attending to the patient, two men, who are known to the woman, started to fight.

One of the men suffered stab wounds to his leg and body and was taken to hospital for surgery. He remains in a stable condition.

The second man suffered an injury to his chest after being hit by a blunt object. He also went to hospital for treatment and remains under police guard.

Circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation by detectives from Cumberland Police Area Command.
