Investigations underway following robbery in Lakemba

An investigation is underway after a man was robbed in Lakemba on Wednesday evening, NSW Police say.

About 11.10pm yesterday, the 33-year-old man was walking from Lakemba Railway Station towards Fairmount Street Reserve, when at the entrance of the reserve he was met by five unknown males.

Police have been told one of the males threatened the man and demanded property, before the man handed over his wallet, two mobile phones, a watch and gold necklace.

The five males fled the scene. The man was uninjured and, yesterday today, contacted police.

Officers attached to Campsie Local Area Command are investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with information, to come forward and contact Crime Stopers.
