Investigations underway following serious crash in Casino

Investigations are underway following a serious crash at Casino yesterday, NSW Police say.

Police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Hickey and Johnston Streets about 10.25am today, following reports of a crash between a Holden Commodore and a truck.

The driver and front passenger in the Holden were trapped within the vehicle before being released.

A woman in her 80s driving the car suffered minor injuries and was taken to Lismore Base Hospital for treatment.

The male passenger, also in his 80s, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Lismore Base Hospital and then flown to Gold Coast University Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the truck, a man in his 40s, was not injured and was taken to Lismore Base Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Specialist crash investigators attended the scene and commenced inquiries into the incident.
