Is your own voice source of happiness?

The Winter Words 2021 program is well underway, with community members exploring spoken word, lyrics, Haiku and traditional Aboriginal storytelling in some of the early workshops on offer, and there's plenty to come!

David Chapple, writer, poet and workshop leader, is facilitating one of the upcoming poetry workshops where he will explore happiness through the development of honest and meaningful text.

"Participants don't need confidence or experience in poetry to produce something of quality in my workshop," David explains.

"Everyone has ideas about happiness and people are generally really open and generous, sharing personal and powerful ideas."

With early activities booked out, or close to booked out, interested members of the community are encouraged to register soon for the programs that interest them.

"There are so many community and social outcomes realised through art and creativity, and a healthy community always has a strong culture," said David.

And for those people uncertain about whether Winter Words is for them, David offers:

"Come with a little motivation, bravery, the ability to listen to thers, and you will succeed."
