Jacko stolen cockatoo returned to owners in Drysdale

Jacko the stolen yellow-crested cockatoo has been returned to his owners safe and well in Drysdale this afternoon.

Police have been told an unknown person returned Jacko in a box and left him near the store about 2.15pm.

The cockatoo was taken by an unknown offender who climbed over the front fence of a hardware store on Murradoc Road just before 9pm on Saturday 11 September.

It is believed the offender removed the bird from the cage and fled the scene.

Portarlington police continue to investigate and are appealing for public assistance to identify the thief.

Investigators have released an image of a man that may be able to assist with their enquiries.
